SEATTLE – September 2, 2010 – RealNetworks®, Inc., (Nasdaq: RNWK) today announced that Janice Roberts has been appointed to the company's Board of Directors, bringing the number of Board members to nine, including seven independent directors. "As RealNetworks is focusing its strategic transformation on the delivery of mobile media applications and services, her industry background and current focus on mobile, wireless and networking companies will provide us with valuable technical and business perspective for our growth initiatives." Janice Roberts is a Managing Director with Mayfield Fund, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, focusing on mobility, wireless communications, networking and consumer industries. Prior to her current position, she held various executive positions at 3Com Corporation, most recently those of President of 3Com Ventures, the investment division of 3Com Corporation, and Senior Vice President, Business Development and Global Marketing. Ms. Roberts also serves on several advisory boards and on the boards of several private companies. She is actively involved with the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Stanford School of Business, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
