Rhapsody Gives Away 100,000 Albums to Celebrate Debut of MP3 Store

SEATTLE — June 30, 2008  —  The first 100,000 people to sign up for an account at will receive a free digital album of their choice complements of Rhapsody, the digital music service from RealNetworks (Nasdaq:RNWK) and MTV Networks, which today opened the virtual doors to its new MP3 Store.

Beginning today, consumers can purchase MP3 music that is free of the digital rights management (DRM) software that restricts how and where people can play their music. Any song or album purchased from the Rhapsody MP3 Store can be played on any music device, even an Apple iPod.

Rhapsody customers now have access to more than 5 million songs from all four major labels and an extensive number of independent labels, with the freedom to listen to an entire song before making a purchase.
