RealNetworks Delivers emoticonSMS to China Telecom Subscribers

Marks Introduction of Real ASP Services in China

SEATTLE — November 13, 2007 —  Digital entertainment services company RealNetworks®, Inc. (RNWK) today announced the company's first deployment of ASP services in China with the September launch of emoticonSMS by China Telecom.

Once integrated into a mobile network, emoticonSMS automatically converts SMS text messages into SMS emoticons using keyword recognition.

Real enables China Telecom to offer non-prefix emoticonSMS by subscription to its 62 million customers marking the first time such a service has been offered in China.

"Subscribers can choose from 4,000 emoticons in 500 themes, making it easy to create unique messages for each of their contacts, every time."

Real's services are currently available through 78 different carriers in 37 countries worldwide, making them available to 785 million subscribers.
